Your Paralegal: Susan
Susan’s early career started in Local Government administration, with an eventual transition into provincial government, where she worked as a junior research analyst in policy and legislation.
After ten years, she forged a new career path into the private sector in the field that she was long passionate about: law. She has worked in law for the past 17 years as a senior litigation paralegal. Along with her vast array of legal expertise in her career, she also has had the unique experience of launching a boutique civil litigation law firm with a lawyer owner – building from the ground up in implementing law firm office procedures, policies and systems, and helping to build the firm in compliance with Law Society guidelines and regulations.
Susan’s a member of the Alberta Association of Paralegals, the Canadian Association of Paralegals and is a Commissioner of Oaths for the Province of Alberta. Her specific areas of expertise include navigating the Court of King’s Bench and complex litigation rules, processes, and documents.

Your Paralegal: Graeme
Graeme’s our newest freelance paralegal to join us. He comes to us with an expansive professional background and is a valuable resource for us in offering administrative, technical, and paralegal services to support small businesses.
In addition to various credentials, he is an honors graduate of the Legal Studies Program from George Brown College (Ontario). His particular expertise is in navigating the Alberta Court of Justice (small claims matters), and in understanding all things Small Claims, including matters specifically related to WCB.
Graeme’s past experience has been in banking and finance, specifically in investment and estate planning. After working with Canadian chartered banks for 22 years, he made his career pivot into small business consulting in WCB employer cost premiums auditing. His work has been matters respecting Alberta WCB cost analysis and research, as well as preparing arguments and appearing before tribunal hearings. He has also managed small claims debt recovery actions, attended court mediations and negotiated settlements with legal counsel and business owners. Graeme is highly interested in supporting the area of corporate law, and will be working on obtaining his CORES accreditation.
